It's late at night. Your pet isn't right. The vet is closed. PetVet247 asks the same questions a vet nurse would ask, searches real veterinary research for your pet's specific symptoms, and gives you a clear, honest answer — so you know exactly what to do next.
It's late at night. Your dog isn't right. The vet is closed, Google gives you ten conflicting answers, and you genuinely don't know whether to panic or go back to bed.
Most people either overreact — paying £200 for emergency reassurance — or underreact, waiting too long and wishing they hadn't. There's no trusted middle ground. Until now.
Any AI can offer generic advice about your pet. PetVet247 goes further. Before giving you any guidance, it searches a curated knowledge base of peer-reviewed veterinary research — drawn from open-access clinical journals cleared for AI use — to find the most relevant clinical evidence for your pet's exact symptoms. Additional peer-reviewed sources are cited for transparency and are available to read directly in the app. Think of it as an AI that has done its clinical reading — and can instantly surface the right evidence for your situation.
Walk through structured clinical questions — the same ones a vet nurse would ask: breathing, gum colour, movement, eating, pain. Upload a photo or short video and our AI visually assesses what it actually sees — pale gums, a wound, how your pet is moving — alongside your answers. Every result is backed by published vet research, not a general hunch.
Upload your pet's records and our AI organises them into a clear health timeline. Smart reminders make sure vaccinations, treatments, and check-ups are never missed. Your pet's full history, always in your pocket — and always ready to share with a new pet owner.
A knowledgeable, always-available companion for every pet health question. Unlike a general chatbot, every answer is cross-referenced against real veterinary clinical literature — not just what an AI happened to learn from the internet. No rabbit holes. No conflicting forum posts. Just honest, research-grounded answers.
Why not just ask ChatGPT? Generic AI gives generic answers drawn from general internet training data. PetVet247 grounds every assessment in published veterinary research, can actually see the photos you upload, and has no advertising revenue or vet practice partnerships that could influence its advice.

Act fast when it matters
Instant red flag detection tells you when to act now — and what to say when you call.
Clear answers at 2am
A triage score, a clear outcome, and plain English explanation — backed by real veterinary research.
FAMILY CARE
Invite a partner, family member or pet sitter to access your pets. They get full access to triage and health records — without being able to transfer ownership.
When you run a symptom check, four things happen automatically. First, structured clinical questions — based on real vet nursing triage protocols, covering breathing, gum colour, movement, pain, eating and behaviour. Second, your answers are matched against a library of published veterinary research to find the most relevant clinical guidance for your pet's specific situation. Third, any photos or video you upload are visually assessed directly by the AI — it looks at gum colour, wounds, and movement, not just your description of them. The result is one of three clear, actionable responses:
Reassurance, with clear guidance on what to watch for and when to reassess. Premium includes the full clinical reasoning behind the result.
Guidance to book a vet appointment within 24–48 hours, with advice on what to tell them. Premium shows you what the research says about your pet's specific symptoms.
Clear, calm instruction to act now — with guidance on what to tell your vet when you call and what to watch for on the way.
PetVet247.ai is built by Neil Ellis — a practising CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) with decades of experience securing global SaaS platforms. When his Jack Russell Max fell ill, Neil found himself in the same position as every other worried pet owner: no trustworthy, independent place to turn at 11pm. So he built one.
PetVet247's triage questions and clinical content are reviewed by Sophie, a Student Veterinary Nurse currently in clinical training. Sophie brings hands-on experience of how animals present when unwell and how vet nurses assess them in practice — ensuring the questions we ask are the ones that actually matter.
The same security and AI governance principles Neil applies at enterprise level are built into PetVet247 from day one — not bolted on as an afterthought. He has personally led ISO 27001 (information security) certification and ISO 42001 (AI governance) compliance. Your pet's data is handled with the same rigour as a global enterprise platform.
This isn't someone who spotted a market opportunity on a spreadsheet. This is someone who felt the problem, had the expertise to fix it properly, and had the heartbreak of Max to make sure he never cut corners.

Most health apps — and most AI — work with words. You type "pale gums" and it searches for other cases where someone wrote "pale gums." But two owners describing the same thing might say it completely differently. One writes "pale." One writes "white-ish." One writes "not the right colour." One uploads a photo and writes nothing at all.
PetVet247 goes further. When you upload a photo during a triage, we convert it into a mathematical fingerprint — a unique signature that captures exactly what that photo looks like, down to colour, tone and texture. We then compare that fingerprint directly against photos that other pet owners have shared from their own journeys.
If your photo looks like photos that turned out to be something serious — even if nobody used the same words — PetVet247 finds it.
This is real — not a demo
When we tested this, a photo of a dog's gums taken during a routine triage matched a community photo from Max's story — a Jack Russell who was later diagnosed with oral cancer — with 90.25% visual similarity. No keywords. No breed filter. Just two photos that looked alike, recognised by AI.
Why this matters to vets too
The cases shown to your clients after a triage are not surfaced by keyword guesswork. They are matched by genuine visual and clinical similarity — and every community photo is reviewed by a human moderator before it ever enters the matching pool.
